Events undertaken so far in 2023:
Australia Day
The commemoration on January 26th was a fabulous event which featured a smoking ceremony and traditional dances performed by Ryka Satrick and his sister. Special guest speakers, our local singer/songwriter James McGaw, Kenthurst Primary, Hills Grammar, Galston High and Marian College students and a flag raising ceremony. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
ANZAC Day
This year saw the largest attendance for Kenthurst Rotary ANZAC day service. Approximately 2000 people attended for the march and ceremony in John Benyon Rotary Park. The march was led by Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band. There was a magnificent flyover of the C-130J Hercules aircraft which delighted the crowd. After the traditional mounting of the Catafalque Party the ceremony included a special guest speaker in Nathan Vaurela, singer James McGaw, local students with poem and songs. Representatives from Federal, State and local council were present, and the opportunity was given for the laying of wreaths by official and community representatives. Afterwards refreshments were served by the family and friends of Kenthurst Rotary.
